> Where is that Lep Soc history available...?

'THe Lepidopterists' Society Commemorative Volume, 1945-1973', published by
the Lep. Soc. in 1977, would be a good place to start. It includes, among
other things, short biographical sketches for anyone who served the Society
in an official capacity, and an index to subjects, authors, and scientific
names, as well as comments on the origin of the Society, annual meetings,
annual field summaries, etc.
