With all these emails on the first butterfly of the year, I should report
that I have my first lifer of 2003 last night on Redington Pass (just
outside of Tucson)

Stamnodes blackmorei Sweet, 1915 [ MONA 7334 ] (Geometridae
Subfamily Larentiinae, Tribe Stamnodini)

Its really tough moth collecting out here in the desert. We were in
shorts and tee-shirts until we decided to pack things in around 8:30.

Cheers

Bruce
