Some of the Better SoTX Butterfly Records - Oct 14-22

The number of butterfly strays along the lower Rio Grande/Rio Bravo was up
markedly last month. 

These records are primarily due to much increased rainfall in in 2003 in
this semi-arid region, but also increased number of butterfliers before,
during and after the Texas Butterfly Festival (Oct. 16-20), and time since
last hard (citrus, palm, etc.) tree-killing freeze which occurred in 1989.
