Hi Paul,
Bakelite is a plastic material based on paraformaldheyde-polymeres,
which are not stable in the long run if used for storage of initially
formalin fixed specimens preserved in alcohol.
Even Bakelite lids with PE-inlays are not stable in the long run, better
are PE-lids with PE inlays.
