Is it possible to offer a field reference/catalogue number that can be
linked to an eventual accession number in the museum's data bank, and that
would be suitable for research papers? Tagging the numbers by using a
specific prefix or number series would maybe work to keep the temporary
numbers editable if the object did not arrive in the museum for a full
accession number.
