Dear colleagues,

Over the years, a considerable number of 3D images of our collection
objects have been generated, primarily for research purposes, using
techniques such as CT scans, photogrammetry, and electron microscopy. My
department manages has many of these images—currently stored in Google
Drive—which were created by our own staff or by researchers.

We have several recurring challenges related to this data. These include
questions about the impact of scanning techniques on object integrity, the
lack of a suitable infrastructure for data storage and publication, and the
conditions for open content (particularly in relation to the intended use).

I am curious about your experiences and solutions and would prefer some
knowledge exchange with colleagues who have expertise in this field, for
example, through a discussion or a lecture. If you or someone in your
network has experience with the technical or policy-related aspects of this
topic and would like to talk with us, you are most welcome!

Best regards,
Max Caspers
