Dear NACO catalogers,
I just had a question about how to save a NACO record, so I am sending the
answer to the list in case others are confused about this, too.
After you finish filling out your authorities template in the RLIN21
Editor, you will save your record using one of the following methods:
1) Menu command: File ---> Save to Database
2) Keystroke combination: Ctrl + S
3) Click on the icon that looks like a diskette (upper lefthand side)
Any of these three options will save your record. The 3rd option might
cause some initial confusion because in Voyager the "save to database" icon
is a "sailboat" not a diskette (and to make things even more complicated
Voyager's diskette icon means "save to disk"). Unfortunately, the icons
chosen by Endeavor and RLG are beyond our control!
The record will automatically save with Status "s" (meaning saved). RLG
fixed the problem with the default being "p" (meaning produced), thank
goodness. Once you are ready to produce your record, you simply change the
"s" to a "p".
