Hello everyone, 

My name is Kumiko Chesworth, who has just joined this discussion group.  I'm 
working as an acquisition assistant at National Film and Television Archive, 
England.  I've been away from Japan for almost 5 years and now I regret that 
I didn't try to see many Japanese films in Japan.  Unfortunately I don't have 
many opportunities to come across Japanese films at work because the archive 
is "British".

I'm especially interested in "gidai-geki" and Japanese cinema history.  I'm 
sure that some of the list members went to Kato Tai season at NFT, London a 
few month ago.  I watched only two and one of them was "Bakumatsu Zankoku 
Monogatari", which is about Sinsen-gumi.  That was very interesting - mixture 
of the genre ("Gidai-geki, spy, love story, action, etc.).  In a way, it 
might be very modern (I don't remember the year when it was made... I think 
1950's).

Anyway it must be good if I could join some of your talks sometime.
