Hi all,

I am researching the stage/film comedian Yokoyama Entatsu and, in
particular, the nature of the work he did during a 6-month stay in the
United States in 1929-'30. His experiences of comedy shows on burlesque
stages in the U.S. are supposed to have influenced him as he "modernized"
manzai later on.

Has anyone done any research into what he actually did/saw during his time
in the U.S.?
If so, I would love to hear from you on- or off-list.

I've read all I could find at the Diet Library. Descriptions of the U.S.
trip tend to be sketchy...

Thanks very much.

Edan
